Exhibitions as part of the Maastricht Septennial Pilgrimage 2025.

Until November 16th 2025 , the cloister of Saint Servatius Basilica will host a double exhibition around 'Servaas City of Maastricht'. Ever since the late 4th century, Maastricht has been a major attraction for people (especially pilgrims) from all over the world. Using the 12th-century Saint Servatius legend by Henric van Veldeke, written in the Maasland dialect, the story of the city patron Servatius and his significance for the city of Maastricht is told. There are also colourful paintings in the cloister on the theme of Processions by the well-known Maastricht painter-sculptor Wil van der Laan. Wil van der Laan designed a statue of Servatius especially fort the occasion. The double exhibition will be open seven days a week in combination with a visit to the Basilica and Treasury.
